" "Come see a new exhibition of artwork by Wells College junior, Hyla Waldron '15. You can see the exhibit, titled, "There Is Nothing Left For You Back There," in the library's first floor gallery space from March 24 to May 11. If the endless winter weather has you down, a few moments surrounded by Hyla's amazing colors and "quirky birds" will have you smiling in no time!" "Wells' Louis Jefferson Long Library is proud to partner with visual arts major Hyla Waldron '15 for an exhibit titled "There Is Nothing Left for You Back There." Hyla has a number of pieces on display in a variety of media; they will be open for viewing during library hours from March 24 to May 11. Hyla's creative work often intersects with her extensive involvement in the local community. She has contributed her work to a fundraiser auction for a local dentist's office, participated in Syracuse University's Empty Bowls Project, helped design a 20-foot mural for the Cayuga Community College campus where she recently earned her associate degree, and more. Currently Hyla volunteers at Auburn's Seymour Library as art project manager and serves as President of the Genesee Parent Teacher Partnership. Additionally, as Wells proceeds with campus construction and renovation projects this semester, Hyla was able to help establish the temporary home for Wells' Sullivan Center for Business and Entrepreneurship by painting the Center's logo prominently in the hallway where the offices are located." |
